In my personal opinion Bethesda's been making the same game with small variations since Morrowind. They're fun for the occasional pick up and smash things but the Elder Scrolls games have always lacked enough immersion for me to actually get into them. I may play Skyrim eventually but it'll definitely be when it comes down in price by a LOT.

I am super hyped about Skyrim! I'm even buying a new state-of-the-art gaming PC just to be able to blast it at max graphics without any lag! I love how it actually takes place in Skyrim, as I have always loved the Nords, I always bought a house in Bruma when I played Oblivion, because I love the looks and atmosphere of the nordic parts ^^ "...But, there is one they fear, in their tongue, he is Dovahkiin... Dragonborn"

@ Kai I think Skyrim will be a lot like Morrowind, but a lot less buggy, and amazing graphics. But I loved Morrowind, I'd buy a reboot of that any day. Here, watch these: www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/09/12/20-minutes-of-skyrim-action/ (Just to warn people these videos have violence in them. If you don't like that, please don't watch these.) The other game I can't wait for is Dragon's Dogma, made by Capcom. @ Bulwark That sounds awesome! I'm just getting the 360 version... but I like playing Elder Scrolls on console, I'm terrible with mouse-and-keyboard gaming. XD The Nords look so awesome in this game. But I think I'll play as an Argonian, they look awesome, too.

@seric: I've seen gameplay videos and I'll readily admit it's a pretty game, and some of their systems seem amazing, but I've never been able to really immerse myself in Bethesda's ES or Fallout games because of the way the interaction with the npcs is and the lack of a driving force to their main plots. The immersion (or lack there of) is always what's killed their games for me. Their lore is nice and relatively thorough, and (with a few mods) their systems are pretty good too for the most part. Bulwark: Oooh, I wish I had money to spend like that. I have to spend our savings on new glasses, rather than a PC. XP @thread: In all reality though it doesn't really matter for me if the game turns out to be the next best thing since the internet as Coco (my laptop) is getting old and likely will barely be able to run the game on minimum settings if at all. -.-

@internet? How does that have to do with playing Skyrim? My internet's not bad, even on wifi I can still get up to 1mps. I was more talking about Coco's processor starting to get slow on me. She use to be able to run Oblivion on medium-high settings with little trouble, but now she hiccups and rebels when I try to run it at anything above medium to medium-low.

Oh, I totally mis-read your comment. XD My bad.
Anyway, back on topic... what race will everyone play as? I already said I'll be playing as an Argonian. :3

@oh, okay that would explain it. Hmm...races, I'm not a huge fan of the vanilla races, normally I'd say Khajiit but their necks look waaaay too skinny in this one. Lynx faces don't go with skinny necks. I'll likely go with the Argonian if I must play vanilla. Partially for their water breathing (which is totally ownage) and partially because the Argonian people are generally worlds nicer than all the other races who just stew in their suspicion and rudeness towards the player character. XP Honestly though I'm really hoping someone makes Skyrim race mods for the Kawa-Khajiit, Felidae of Nirn or if I'm really lucky the Phalarns from Morrowind. :3

I'm kind of hoping someone will mod in Akaviri races. Or the Sload, even if they are ugly, it would make things interesting.

@seric: I've heard of the Sload before but what are the Akiviri races? I thought the Akiviri were a group of people not a land or group of races.

@ Kai
Have you played Morrowind? During Oblivion, someone said that the Nerevarine went to Akivir to try to make peace, but a lot of people think he/she was killed.
Akivir is a country that does not belong to the Empire, the people there wield strange magic that makes them able to become part animal. There are a ton of races there; some common ones are; part dragon, part wolf, part bird, etc. There's a lot of them, and there aren't many records of the country. But I really hope that one of the games ends up taking place there. It would be awesome. The Akiviri don't like outsiders, and they hate the Empire.
@ Bulwark
That sounds awesome, and appropriate for the game.

@seric: I have played Morrowind. I can't play it for long periods of time because of the atrocious grammar and spelling mistakes in the npc dialogue but I have played it. That's pretty super neat though. I'm replaying both Oblivion and Morrowind right now so I'll have to keep my eyes out for book on Akiviri in game. With how cool that sounds I think they should just make Akiviri it's own game. :3
